Andy has earned a reputation as one of the most experienced steamship agents in the Port Arthur/Beaumont area, with expertise in handling all types of bulk vessels. He began his maritime career in 1995 as a boarding agent with R&O Motorship and began a close working relationship with Total Petrochemicals (formerly Fina) that continues to this day. In 1997 Andy joined M&T Ship Agency, handling all operations for M&T while continuing to service Fina/Total's requirements. Barwil purchased M&T in 1998 and promoted Andy to Asst. Vessel Manager, and he served in that capacity until joining Moran-Gulf in 2000 as Vessel Manager. Andy was also instrumental in formulating the procedures currently used in Moran's unique role as Security Liaison with Total, and in February 2007 Moran recognized his accomplishments by promoting him to Operations Manager. Andy is a member of the Southeast Texas Waterways Advisory Counsel (SETWAC) and the Sabine Chapter Propeller Club. |
