Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
 
Cold front crosses the waters early this morning. Blustery NW winds
for the waters on Tue as another cold front approaches. Gales
possible late Tuesday into Tuesday night for the eastern waters.
High pres then settles over the waters on Wed into Thurs. A cold
front arrives by late in the week.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

MORNING...
 
.TODAY...SW winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft
at 5 seconds and S 2 ft at 10 seconds. A chance of rain this
morning.
.TONIGHT...W winds around 10 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt with
gusts up to 25 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: W
3 ft at 4 seconds and SE 1 foot at 5 seconds.
.TUE...NW winds 20 to 25 kt, increasing to 25 to 30 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft, building to 5 to 8 ft in the
afternoon. Wave Detail: W 5 ft at 5 seconds and SE 1 foot at
9 seconds, becoming N 7 ft at 6 seconds and SE 1 foot at
9 seconds.
.TUE NIGHT...N winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt. Seas
6 to 9 ft. Wave Detail: N 8 ft at 8 seconds and SE 1 foot at
9 seconds.
.WED AND WED NIGHT...N winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt.
Seas 6 to 9 ft. Wave Detail: N 8 ft at 8 seconds and SE 1 foot at
9 seconds.
.THU...N winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: NE 6 ft
at 9 seconds and E 2 ft at 11 seconds.
.THU NIGHT THROUGH FRI NIGHT...NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up
to 25 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. A chance of rain.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height..
