Low pres develops just south of New England today, then intensifies
into a gale center Fri into the northern mid-Atlantic region. It
then is forecast to rotate through the southern waters into the
Maritimes for the weekend, bringing a risk for NW gale force gusts.
High pres building in on Mon then brings easing NW winds. A cold
front may then sweep across the waters Mon night or Tues, followed
by gusty NW winds late Tue into Wed.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...
 
.TODAY...E winds 15 to 20 kt, increasing to 20 to 25 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: NE
6 ft at 6 seconds and E 1 foot at 11 seconds. A chance of rain
this morning, then rain this afternoon with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.TONIGHT...E winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming SE 25 to 30 kt after
midnight. Seas 6 to 8 ft. Wave Detail: E 8 ft at 7 seconds and S
2 ft at 5 seconds. Rain. Vsby 1 to 3 NM in the evening.
.FRI...S winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming SE 10 to 15 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: SE 6 ft at 7 seconds and
S 2 ft at 4 seconds. A chance of rain in the morning, then rain
in the afternoon.
.FRI NIGHT...E winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming NW 10 to 15 kt after
midnight. Seas 4 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: SE 4 ft at 7 seconds and S
1 foot at 4 seconds. Rain.
