.SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK
ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...
High pressure will shift offshore today. A coastal system will
impact the region beginning tonight through Saturday with areas
of heavy rain and breezy conditions. As the system departs by
Sunday, dry high pressure will settle in from the northeast into
early next week. Another system may impact the region into the
middle of next week.

with gusts up to 20 kt this afternoon. Seas around 2 ft. SE swell
around 2 ft at 6 seconds late this morning, becoming light.
TONIGHT
SE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. N swell 2 to 3 ft at 3 seconds. Rain after midnight with
vsby 1 to 3 NM.

* WHAT...Southeast winds shifting to the north near 20 to 30 kt
with gusts up to 40 kt and seas 6 to 11 ft possible.
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out
20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE out
20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island
DE out 20 nm.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southeast winds will strengthen on
Saturday. There is potential for near gale force southeast winds
on Saturday before the winds diminish then shift from the north
during the evening. Gale force northerly winds are then forecast
for Saturday night into Sunday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and seas.
