Channel Depth

The LONG BEACH main channel, inside the breakwater, is dredged to -76.0 feet MLLW* as far as the Gerald Desmond Bridge.  Thereafter reducing to -54 feet MLLW* at the turning basin, and 45 feet MLLW approaching the Terminal docks at Pier B.
UKC POLICY-Between the Long Beach sea buoy and the Long Beach Channel Buoy #3, minimum under-keel clearance before correction for roll and pitch is 10% of the vessel's draft.  In the channel between the Long Beach Channel Buoy #3 and a position off the designated berth, minimum under-keel clearance is 2.0’ (0.61m).
The LOS ANGELES main channel, inside the breakwater, is dredged to -53.0 feet MLLW* UKC POLICY - Between the Los Angeles Approach Channel Lighted Buoy #1 and the Los Angeles Main Channel Buoy #11, minimum under-keel clearance before correction for roll and pitch is 10% of the vessel's draft.In the channel between the Los Angeles Main Channel Buoy #11 and a position off the designated berth, minimum under-keel clearance is 2.0’ (0.61m).
