PCT DEBBY - At 1100 PM EDT (0300 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Debby was located near latitude 46.3 North, longitude 71.1 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 39 mph (63 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 996 mb (29.42 inches).
1. Near the Lesser and Greater Antilles:
Shower and thunderstorm activity has increased some in association with a tropical wave located roughly halfway between the Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles. Gradual development of this system is possible during the next couple of days while it moves westward to west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic. Afterwards, conditions are expected to become more conducive for development and a tropical depression is likely to form by the early
to mid part of next week while the system approaches and then moves near or over the Lesser Antilles. The system is forecast to continue moving generally west-northwestward and could approach portions of the Greater Antilles by the middle to latter part of next week.
