Good Morning,
The first conference call to discuss Tropical Storm Francine and the impacts to the local area just concluded.  The slides discussed during the call can be found at the following; link:

Below is a summary of the call:

National Weather Service:

The storm was officially named Tropical Storm Francine this morning.  Southwest Pass will be experiencing increased winds and waves Tuesday night into Wednesday.  Strongest winds/seas will be during the day on Wednesday.   Wave height is expected to reach a maximum height of 12 feet.  There is a moderate risk for flooding due to forecasted rainfall and saturated ground from last week's rain.  Southwest Pass is currently under a Hurricane Watch.

Corps of Engineers:
All operations are currently normal.  Monitoring the progression of the storm.

Coast Guard:
Port Condition Whiskey will go into effect at 12:00.   Port Condition X-Ray will go into in effect later this afternoon.  All units monitoring the progression of the storm.

Pilot Association:
Bar Pilots: Monitoring the progress of the storm.  Will cease operation when condition warrant.
Crescent Pilots: Not anticipating evacuating Pilottown at this time.  Will continue to monitor the conditions.
NOBRA Pilots: Monitoring the storm
Federal Pilots: Anticipating evacuating their station late tomorrow night.
