Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Steady 15 to 20 knot west/northwest winds persist over the coastal
waters today with seas gradually subsiding through this afternoon. A
weak-coastal low-pressure system is forecast to produce snowfall over
MA Bay and the south coastal waters early Friday afternoon through
early Saturday. This system will be accompanied by modest
northeasterly winds on Friday that will become north/northwesterly
Friday night into Saturday. Bitter cold temperatures will support
areas of freezing spray through Sunday morning.
