Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
High pressure over Quebec today shifts east of the Canadian
Maritimes later Wednesday. This allows a couple waves of low
pressure to lift northeast across the waters Wed night into Fri. A
ridge of high pressure follows Fri night into Sat. A potential
coastal storm may impact the waters sometime Sat night into
Sun...but its track and intensity remains uncertain at this point.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank
National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt, becoming NW
10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt this afternoon. Seas 2 to
4 ft.
.TONIGHT...NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming E with gusts up to 20 kt
after midnight. Seas around 2 ft. A chance of rain in the
evening, then snow likely after midnight. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.WED...SE winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt in the morning.
Seas 2 to 3 ft. A chance of rain. A chance of snow in the
morning. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.WED NIGHT...S winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
2 to 3 ft. Patchy fog. Rain likely. Vsby 1 to 3 NM, decreasing to
1 NM or less after midnight.
.THU...SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming W
5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Patchy fog. Rain.
