Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Weak low pres moves over the waters into tonight, then moving into
Atlantic Canada early on Sat. Strong high pres should then arrive
later Sat night into Sun, followed by a cold front sometime Mon.
High pres then rebuilds in for early to mid next week.
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank
National Marine Sanctuary:
.TODAY...S winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming W 5 to 10 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Patchy fog. Rain.
Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.TONIGHT...N winds 5 to 10 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt with
gusts up to 25 kt after midnight. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Patchy fog. A
chance of rain in the evening. Vsby 1 to 3 NM, decreasing to 1 NM
or less after midnight.
.SAT...N winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming NW 15 to 20 kt in the
afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft.
.SAT NIGHT...NW winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt,
diminishing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt after midnight.
Seas 5 to 7 ft. Light freezing spray in the evening.
.SUN...NW winds around 10 kt, becoming SW with gusts up to 20 kt
