Still under a low pres, showers and thunderstorms may form near
the coastal waters this afternoon. More showers and thunderstorms
possible Thursday, but may stay more confined to inland areas.
Another low pres system brings steady rain to the forecast for
Friday and Saturday.
 
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...S winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt this afternoon.
Seas 3 to 4 ft. Patchy fog this morning with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.TONIGHT...SW winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt in the
evening. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Patchy fog after midnight with vsby 1 NM
or less.
.THU...W winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming NE in the afternoon. Seas
2 to 4 ft. Patchy fog. Vsby 1 NM or less.
.THU NIGHT...E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Patchy fog in
the evening. A chance of showers after midnight. Vsby 1 NM or
less.
.FRI AND FRI NIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt.
Seas 3 to 5 ft. Showers likely .
.SAT...NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 4 to
5 ft. A chance of showers.
.SAT NIGHT...W winds around 10 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.
.SUN AND SUN NIGHT...NW winds around 10 kt, becoming W. Seas 2 to
3 ft.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
