Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
High pressure over the Tennessee Valley extends into the region
today, a quick-hitting low pressure system moves from the Great
Lakes region to northern New England tonight into Thursday morning.
This system brings storm force gusts to all the waters. Brief high
pressure builds in from the west late Thursday into Friday. Low
pressure system returns over the weekend.
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

.TODAY...NW winds 30 to 35 kt, diminishing to 25 to 30 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 45 kt. Seas 7 to 10 ft. Wave Detail: NW
9 ft at 6 seconds and SE 1 foot at 11 seconds.
.TONIGHT...NW winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt,
diminishing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt after midnight.
Seas 4 to 6 ft. Wave Detail: NW 6 ft at 6 seconds and SE 1 foot
at 11 seconds.
.FRI...W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming SW
15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to
3 ft. Wave Detail: W 3 ft at 4 seconds and E 1 foot at
