Notices

Kindly note, starting December 9, 2025 U.S. Coast Guard will require a new workbook (version 8.0) for all email submissions, NOAD web service submissions, and eNOAD imports. After this date no previous versions will be accepted, even for updates and departures if you used older versions for the arrival. The new workbook version 8.0 is attached and will be accepted starting December 9, 2025. Please save the workbook and start using it on that date. DO NOT USE BEFORE DECEMBER 9th, 2025.

Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Low pres tracks well to our north today into this evening resulting
in gale force SW wind gusts. A cold front then crosses the waters
late tonight followed by another pulse of gale force W wind gusts
Thu into Fri. Weak high pres builds south of the waters Fri night
into Sat allowing winds to diminish. A weak wave of low pres will
probably track south of our waters Sat night into Sun morning. This
will be followed by the passage of an arctic cold front late Sun.
 
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
 
...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...
 
.TODAY...SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt, becoming S
20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 40 kt this afternoon. Seas 3 to
4 ft, building to 4 to 6 ft this afternoon. Wave Detail: SW 4 ft
at 4 seconds and SE 2 ft at 7 seconds, becoming S 5 ft at
5 seconds and SE 3 ft at 9 seconds. A slight chance of rain this
afternoon.
.TONIGHT...SW winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 40 kt. Seas 4 to
6 ft. Wave Detail: S 5 ft at 6 seconds. A chance of rain. Vsby
1 to 3 NM.
.THU...W winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt. Seas 5 to
7 ft. Wave Detail: W 7 ft at 6 seconds and SE 2 ft at 8 seconds.
.THU NIGHT...W winds around 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt. Seas
6 to 9 ft. Wave Detail: W 9 ft at 6 seconds and SE 2 ft at
10 seconds.
.FRI...W winds 25 to 30 kt, diminishing to 20 to 25 kt in the
afternoon. Gusts up to 40 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: W 7 ft
at 6 seconds and SE 1 foot at 10 seconds.
.FRI NIGHT...W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt,
diminishing to 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt after midnight.
Seas 4 to 6 ft, subsiding to 2 to 4 ft after midnight. Wave
Detail: W 6 ft at 5 seconds and SE 1 foot at 10 seconds, becoming
W 4 ft at 5 seconds and SE 1 foot at 10 seconds.
.SAT...W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to
3 ft.
.SAT NIGHT...W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
3 to 4 ft. A chance of snow.
.SUN...W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to
5 ft. A chance of snow. Vsby 1 NM or less.
.SUN NIGHT...NW winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt. Seas
5 to 7 ft. A chance of snow showers. Vsby 1 NM or less.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
