BOSTON CBP has noted the following:
 
Crew changes are being permitted.  Offsigner flights need to be vetted by CBP in advance.
 
Shore leave is permitted.
 
Mariners are advised that phased bridge deck repairs will be conducted to Andrew P. McArdle Bridge on Sunday January 4th, 2026’ through Thursday January 8th, 2026. Work hours will be from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. The contractor is requesting one-hour advanced notice for bridge opening to clear crews and equipment. On-scene POC Mr. Russell Forest (978) 360-6079 The bridge tender will be on scene during the maintenance period and can be reached via VHF-FM Ch 13. Questions may be directed to the City of Boston Public Works at (617) 635-2220 or Mr. Spencer Kresge (508) 932-7254. Mariners are advised to use caution and plan their transits accordingly.

Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
 
High pres builds S of the waters through tonight, then a warm front
moves into the southern waters Tue. Low pres develops on the front
south of New Eng Tue night and moves offshore while deepening into a
Gale center well E of New Eng on Wed. A cold front will drop S
across New Eng Thu and set up south of the waters Thu night and Fri.
Low pres is expected to develop to the west on Fri and may track
along this front S of the waters Fri night into Sat.
 
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

.TODAY...NW winds 20 to 25 kt, diminishing to 15 to 20 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: NW
7 ft at 6 seconds and E 2 ft at 10 seconds.
.TONIGHT...W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. Wave Detail: W 3 ft at 5 seconds and E 2 ft at 9 seconds.
.TUE...W winds around 10 kt, becoming S in the afternoon. Seas
2 to 3 ft. Wave Detail: W 2 ft at 4 seconds and E 1 foot at
10 seconds. A chance of snow and rain in the morning, then rain
in the afternoon with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.TUE NIGHT...S winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming W 20 to 25 kt after
midnight. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: SW 3 ft at 4 seconds and E
1 foot at 10 seconds. Rain. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.WED...N winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 5 to
7 ft. Wave Detail: NE 6 ft at 7 seconds. A chance of rain and
snow in the morning with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.WED NIGHT...N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming
NW after midnight. Seas 4 to 6 ft, subsiding to 2 to 4 ft after
midnight. Wave Detail: E 6 ft at 9 seconds and N 4 ft at
6 seconds, becoming E 4 ft at 9 seconds and NW 1 foot at
5 seconds.
.THU AND THU NIGHT...W winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming NW. Gusts up
to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
.FRI...E winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to
4 ft. Rain likely.
.FRI NIGHT...NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas
5 to 8 ft. Rain likely.
 
Seas are reported as significant wave height, which is the
average of the highest third of the waves. Individual wave
heights may be more than twice the significant wave height.
