Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Low pressure tracks across northern New England Tuesday night, while
a weaker secondary low tries to develop near Cape Cod. This
secondary low becomes the dominant low Wed south of Nova Scotia, and
eventually into a gale center Thu, as it heads towards Newfoundland.
Dry WNW winds prevail into Friday and possibly Saturday.
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:
.TODAY...NW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SW this afternoon. Seas
2 to 4 ft. Wave Detail: N 3 ft at 6 seconds and E 2 ft at
11 seconds.
.TONIGHT...S winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 to
3 ft. Wave Detail: S 3 ft at 4 seconds and NE 2 ft at 6 seconds.
Snow. Freezing rain with a chance of rain after midnight.
.WED...NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to
4 ft. Wave Detail: NW 4 ft at 4 seconds and SE 2 ft at 5 seconds.
