QUOTE:
“Channel users,

Please see below advisory from USCG regarding channel closure scheduled for Thursday, February 15 from 0800 – 1000. Please expect possible delays that morning as no vessels can pass within 1000 feet of Light 78 while the pipeline removal is in progress.

Below is the broadcast for the safety zone to remove dredge piping on Thursday, February 15. Station Lake Charles will also be on-scene.

The Coast Guard will be establishing a temporary safety zone to protect all personnel and vessels transiting the area within a 1000-foot radius of Calcasieu Channel Light 78 between Mile Markers 14 and 15 on the Calcasieu Ship Channel. Transiting through the zone is restricted between the hours of 0800 AM to 1000 AM on February 15, 2024. To seek permission to enter, contact the COTP or the COTP’s representative on VHF-FM channel 13 or 16.” UNQUOTE
