The latest briefing for the western Atlantic is attached. This update covers our developing hurricane-force low in the mid-Atlantic waters today through Monday, with winds increasing to 55-70 kt gusting to 85 kt and seas building from 12-24 ft with peak significant waves reaching 40+ ft.
This is a very dangerous situation and mariners should avoid the mid-Atlantic waters if possible until Tuesday.

...STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Northwest winds 35 to 45 kt with gusts up to 55 kt and
  seas 10 to 15 ft.
* WHERE...Coastal waters from Great Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out
  20 nm, Coastal waters from Cape May NJ to Cape Henlopen DE out
  20 nm and Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island
  DE out 20 nm.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Storm force winds and hazardous seas will capsize or
  damage vessels and reduce visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow could lead to near zero
  visibility at times through Monday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK
ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...
Strong low pressure over the western Atlantic east of Delmarva and
the Jersey Shore will continue to track out to sea as the day
progresses. High pressure briefly builds through the region on
Tuesday, followed by a weak clipper system Tuesday night through
Wednesday morning. Low pressure will impact the area again on
Thursday through Friday. High pressure returns for the end of the
week and weekend.

STORM WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON

 TODAY
NW winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 50 kt, diminishing
to 25 to 30 kt late. Seas 10 to 14 ft, subsiding to 9 to 12 ft
this afternoon. Wave Detail: E 11 ft at 11 seconds and NW 6 ft at
6 seconds, becoming E 10 ft at 11 seconds and NW 5 ft at
6 seconds. Snow until late afternoon, then a chance of snow late.
Blowing snow this morning. Areas of blowing snow this afternoon.
TONIGHT
NW winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 8 to
10 ft, subsiding to 6 to 8 ft after midnight. Wave Detail: E 8 ft
at 12 seconds and NW 5 ft at 5 seconds, becoming E 6 ft at
11 seconds and NW 4 ft at 5 seconds. Areas of blowing snow in the
evening.
TUE
NW winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming W 15 to 20 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Wave Detail: E 5 ft at 11 seconds and
NW 4 ft at 5 seconds.
TUE NIGHT
SW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 15 to 20 kt with
gusts up to 25 kt after midnight. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave Detail: S
4 ft at 5 seconds and E 3 ft at 11 seconds. A chance of rain and
snow after midnight with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
WED
SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 4 to
6 ft. Wave Detail: S 6 ft at 7 seconds and E 2 ft at 10 seconds.
A chance of rain in the morning with vsby 1 to 3 NM.
WED NIGHT
SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt,
becoming W 5 to 10 kt after midnight. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Wave
Detail: SW 5 ft at 7 seconds and SE 2 ft at 12 seconds.
THU
NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SE in the afternoon. Seas
2 to 4 ft. A chance of rain in the morning, then rain likely in
