Weather / Marine Zone Forecast

MARINE WEATHER: 508 AM EDT Tue Aug 19 2025

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A stationary front will persist
across the central waters today and tonight, with high pressure
over the N waters to the N of the front. The front and high
pressure will lift NE Wed as Hurricane Erin approaches the waters
from the S. The eye of Hurricane Erin is expected to move N into
the outer S waters late Wed, then continue N and NE through the
outer S and central waters Wed night and Thu. It will then turn
more NE and move through the Outer Mid-Atlantic Waters Thu night
through Fri night. The wind field of Hurricane Erin will expand
significantly Thu through Fri, resulting in all of the central
and N waters seeing at least tropical storm conditions. Long
period SE to S swell from Erin will continue to spread N into the
central and N waters today and tonight. Significant swell will
continue through Fri night while gradually backing to the E Wed
through Thu night. Another high will build over the waters Fri
through Sat night while a stationary front forms over the far S
waters. For more information on Hurricane Erin, please closely
monitor the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center.
