Remembering James “Jim” Black

Today marks one year since the passing of James “Jim” Black. It is a solemn day of remembrance for those fortunate to have known him, but it is also a day to honor his memory and to think back on his lasting impact here at Moran Shipping Agencies and beyond.

In his fifty years at Moran, working his way from boarding agent to CEO/President, Jim became a leader in the maritime industry. He touched many lives and earned the respect of colleagues across industries around the world. More than a boss or business owner, though, Jim forged deep friendships with the employees, customers, and vendors responsible for driving Moran’s success. It is with his legacy guiding us that we look forward to a bright future where we may maintain and strengthen Moran’s reputation as a premier shipping agency, a reputation we earned under Jim’s leadership.

May we all take a moment of silence in Jim’s memory and reflect on our loved ones who are no longer with us.
