Advisory Programs

Moran meets with our clients and contractors on a regular basis to review the program in depth. We discuss the incidents, deficiencies, and near-misses, and share ideas for continuous improvement and identification of best practices.

Moran issues “Safety Alerts” to our contractors as reminders of the safety hazards they can encounter in their daily work activities.

• Our contractors’ primary role is to observe and advise the onboard activities to help ensure a safe and pollution-free operation at clients terminals and to help protect the environment by using their Stop Work Recommendation Authority. Moran also observes and advises the Dock PIC as needed.
  All Moran contractors have General Liability Insurance coverage.
  We currently provide these Pollution & Safety Advisor services in the Gulf Coast and East Coast. The services can be expanded nationwide as needed.
  Moran services also include coverage for in-harbor lightering, bunkering operations, and other Special Projects & Assignments.
  Moran fully coordinates the coverage, scheduling and stewardship of The Pollution and Safety Advisor (ships & OGB’s) and Dock Walker (inland barges) programs.
  The value of our services is measured by the “near miss”, “deficiencies” and “observations” captured by the PSA and/or DW.
  Our vessel non-coverage rate averages less than .5%, well below the KPI criteria set by our Clients.
